Wales the country v Wales the village

My sons were meeting at the local pub across from the church one lunch time a few weeks back and a bbc film crew bumped into one of them and asked if they knew the Vicar. Here is the result 🙂 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-45086764

Vicar’s letter – July/August 2018

Footy Faith The football world cup has been running for 88 years and 79 different teams have competed from Australia to Zaire. From Iceland to China nations of all sizes compete – the attention of the world will be on Russia until the final. I write this as England prepare to face Belgium in the …

Vicar’s letter – June 2018

Dear Friends I’m looking forward to the annual Family Camp at Walesby this year with the church and uniformed organisations. We usually have a theme and this year it is all things Star Wars. I remember queuing to see the very first movie with my Dad. It was the most amazing experience from the effects …

Vicar’s letter – May 2018

Dear Friends When I pray sometimes God feels very close. At other times (usually when there’s a tragedy either globally, nationally or locally) I’m not sure where God is, or even if God is, but I pray. I positively make a decision to pray, because like an iPhone charger it connects me with an energy …

Vicar’s letter – April 2018

Dear Friends "Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us." Hebrews 12:1 I will be running to raise a minimum of £250 for the Snowdrop Project which exists to empower survivors of human trafficking to live lives that are no longer defined by their past. I last ran the Sheffield half …

Vicar’s letter – March 2018

Dear Friends Jesus said, ‘Take up your cross and follow me.’ We’re still trying to live these words of Jesus out 2000 years later. Re enter the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection as we retell it in community. The season of Lent ends with a climactic week of active remembering through re-enacted stories. It’s …

Vicar’s letter – February 2018

Dear Friends Every day this Lent which starts on February 14th I'm trying to notice at least one thing to be thankful for, especially if I haven't noticed it before. I might even take a photo. Snowdrops for example so tiny and easy to miss. This is a good year for snowdrops, flowers I have …

Vicar’s letter – Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We hope you will join in celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ this Christmas. There’s something so special about being in your local parish church at this seasonal time of year. Whether it’s the ancient bells faithfully rung and singing their song of celebration, or …

Vicar’s letter – Remembrance

Dear Friends On the 12th of November at 10.45am we will gather as a community in the Parish Church to remember those who have died in war. Some in our Parish remember family members and friends lost in battle or conflict more than half a century ago. Some remember loved ones lost more recently on …
